Georgia increases import of medicine from Turkey

Georgia has increased import of medicine from Turkey in January-August 2019, Trend reports referring to the Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).

Some 925 tons of medicine worth a total of $58.70 million was exported from Turkey to Georgia.

Over the same period last year, 507 tons of medicine was exported from Turkey to Georgia, totaling $37.91 million.

For eight months of 2019, total imports from Turkey to Georgia amounted to $993 million. In turn, Georgia exported goods worth $144 million to Turkey.

The foreign trade turnover of Georgia with Turkey from January to August 2019 exceeded $1.13 billion, which is 14 percent of the total trade turnover of Georgia.

The Geostat report notes that Turkey remains the largest trading partner for Georgia.
