CDMA was applied in NAR on the basis of a contract signed between the NAR Ministry of Communications and Chinese Huawei company.

Besides CDMA, Azercell Telecom, Bakcell (since late 2006) and Azerfon (since 2007) render mobile communication services in the NAR.
