Kazakhstan kicked off the nomination of candidates to the members of the Majilis (Lower Chamber) of Kazakhstan on Wednesday, November 16, the chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Kuandyk Turgankulov said.

"In accordance with the electoral law, political parties registered in the prescribed manner have right to nominate candidates for members of the Majilis," Turgankulov said

According to Turgankulov, the Communist Party of Kazakhstan will not participate in the elections due to court decision on cessation of their activities.

Meanwhile, members of election commissions from the CPK will retain their mandate.

The CEC adopted on Nov. 16 samples of election documents for election campaigns organization and conduct.
