Kazakh and Iranian Presidents Nursultan Nazarbayev and Hassan Rouhani discussed cooperation issues in the fields of agriculture and transport, Akorda said Sept. 9.
"The main ways and mechanisms for further development and strengthening of the Kazakh-Iranian cooperation were discussed during the negotiations," according to the statement. "In particular, the issues of cooperation in economy, energy, infrastructure development, agriculture, as well as transport and transit were discussed. Moreover, Nazarbayev and Rouhani exchanged views on relevant issues of the international agenda."
President Nazarbayev stressed that the relations between the two countries have always developed steadily. At present, the cooperation has great potential for development. President Rouhani said that Iran attaches great importance to the development of the relations with Kazakhstan.
President Nazarbayev stressed that Kazakhstan considers Iran as one of important partners in the world and in the Caspian region. He also expressed confidence that Iran's nuclear issue will be resolved, which will contribute to the economic development of this country.
