Brides kidnapping is on the rise in Kyrgyzstan, especially in the rural areas, Synara Alymkulova, head of the history and social-economical research department of the Kyrgyz state university of Arabaev told reporters on Wednesday, news agency "24.kg" reported.
"The kidnapped women have no opportunity to come back home, as it would be considered a stinking family shame. Our research does not show how many women get married of or against their will. But most of our respondents note that they are forced to marriage," she stressed.
Another problem of the country is drinking youth. "Young people simply have nothing to do and know nothing better than to get drunk," Alymkulova added.
