BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 25. Kyrgyzstan's tourism revenue significantly increased in the first half of 2022 said Minister of Culture, Information, Sports, and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan Azamat Zhamankulov, Trend reports with reference to the tazabek.kg.

"Kyrgyzstan's tourism revenue from January through June 2022 increased by 82 percent compared to the same period of last year ($27.1 million) - up to $49.5 million," Zhamankulov said.

According to him, the number of visitors arriving in Kyrgyzstan in the reporting period amounted to 3.8 million people, which is an increase of 106 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2021.

"The volume of investments in fixed assets in the tourism sector in the first half of 2022 reached 584.8 million soms ($7.3 million), which is 10.5 percent more than in the same period of last year," Zhamankulov said.

In the meantime, Kyrgyzstan became the most popular travel destination for Uzbek residents from January through June 2022, with one million visitors arriving from Uzbekistan to Kyrgyzstan.
