BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 29. Tajikistan will increase imports of petroleum products from Russia in 2023, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan.

During the meeting in Moscow, Deputy Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan Sharifa Khudobakhsh with First Deputy Minister of Energy of Russia Pavel Sorokin, made changes to the document on indicative balances of supplies of petroleum products for 2023.

In accordance with this document, the total volume of the indicative balance will be increased, including the volume of Russian supplies of gasoline and diesel fuel to Tajikistan, compared to last year.

Since 2013, Tajikistan has been receiving Russian fuels and lubricants on a preferential basis without paying export customs duties. One of the main conditions for the preferential supply of Russian petroleum products is the ban on re-export to third countries.

Remarkably, the volume of preferential energy supplies from Russia to Tajikistan agreed for 2022 was, as in previous years, 830,000 tons.
