BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 8. The number of people visiting Azerbaijan from Uzbekistan amounted to 3,500 in August 2022, which is an increase of 13 times compared to the same month last year (263 people), Trend reports via the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan.
According to the agency, Uzbekistan ranked 13th in the top 15 countries in terms of the number of visitors to Azerbaijan in August 2022.
During this period, Azerbaijan was visited by 123 percent more foreigners than in August of last year.
The number of people visiting Azerbaijan from Uzbekistan in July 2022 amounted to 2,600, which is an increase of 12 times compared to the same month last year (215 people).
According to the Ministry of Tourism of Uzbekistan, up to 4.5 million foreign tourists are expected to visit the country in 2022.
The total number of domestic tourists in Uzbekistan increased from 8.8 million in 2016 to 14.7 million in 2019 and exceeded 15 million in 2021.
