Iran appoints new FM spokesman
Iran appointed Ramin Mehmanparast as the Iranian Foreign Ministry's new spokesman, ISNA reported. He was introduced to journalists today.
Hasan Gashgavi, the Foreign Ministry's former spokesman, was appointed deputy head of the Iranians in the Diaspora and Consulate Affairs Ministry Oct.11.
Mehmanparast previously served as Iranian ambassador to Thailand and Kazakhstan. He was also head of the Foreign Ministry's Coordinating Office for Cultural Affairs and served as head of the ministry's Media Cooperation Department.
Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki expressed confidence that the new spokesman will work closely with the country's press.
