(Kazinform) - North Korea's Minister of Weaponry, Kim Il Chol, said Wednesday this country will continue building up its defense and the means of control over combat operations in every way possible so as to be able to cope with the situation on the Korean Peninsula "caused by U.S. hostility and an irresponsible stance taken by the UN Security Council."Minister Kim said it Wednesday as he addressed a gala meeting on the occasion of 53rd anniversary since the end of the Korean War of 1950-1953.

The statement was made in spite of the UN Security Council resolution that contained a demand to Pyongyang to stop the tests of ballistic missiles and to revert to the format of six-partite talks for settling the Korean Peninsula's nuclear problem, reports Trend.

Kim Il Chol said the U.S. demonstrated a clearly "gangster-like behavior" by misusing the Security Council's powers to show the North Korean missile tests off as a threat to peace and stability.

The Security Council's resolution aims to stifle the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Kim said, Kazinform has learnt from Itar-Tass.

It is hard for the people of North Korea and its Armed Forces to keep in check the growing indignation over reactionaries in the U.S. and Japan, who try to knit together an international alliance against this country and to provoke a new Korean war.
