(zaman.com) - Iraqi Turkmen Front (ITF) chairman Sadettin Ergec and six other Turkmen deputies left Iraq for Turkey on Monday.
ITC Chairman Ergec is due to arrive in Turkey from the Iraqi city of Arbil, while Abbas Beyati, Feryal Tuzlu, Sadr group representative Ekrem Fevzi Terzi, Muhammed Taki Mevla, Muhammed Mehdi and Izzettin Musuli are flying from the Iraqi capital Baghdad, reports Trend.
The Iraqi Turkmen deputies are expected to exchange views with Turkish officials on the referendum in Kirkuk slated for 2007 and also on the tension between Turkmen and Kurdish groups in the region.
Diplomatic activity between Turkey and neighboring Iraq has gained pace in recent weeks.
Two days ago, Iraq Islam Party chairman Tariq al-Hashimi and 15 officials arrived in Turkey for contacts.
