Baku, Azerbaijan, Mar. 25
By Fatih Karimov - Trend: A Bahraini commercial ship collided with an Iranian offshore platform in the Persian Gulf.

The Bahraini ship hit the offshore platform of phase 13 of Iran's South Pars gas field last night due to a lack of lights and alarm signals on the platform, Iran's Fars news agency reported March 25.

The platform was damaged as a result of the collision.

In 2013, the offshore platform of the phase 13 of the South Pars gas field was drowned while being installed.

Some $40 million had been spent to build the platform over the course of 30 months.

The phase 13 of the South Pars field is projected to yield 50 million cubic meters of gas, 80,000 barrels of gas condensates, 2900 metric tons of LPG, and 400 metric tons of sulfur per day.
