Conciliating requests by Iranians to involve Azerbaijan's markets increase

A member of the Trade Promtion Organisation of Iran told Trend that the number of investors, companies and entrepreneurs who requested conciliating services from this organization to involve in Azerbaijan's market has increased recently.

Faraj Shahdi said on Feb.24 that currently Iran's auto makers and pharmaceutical companies are more interested to invest in Azerbaijan.

Heading a high-ranking delegation, Azerbaijani president visited Tehran on Fen.22 at the invitation of President Rouhani.

The sides signed 11 memorandum of understanding.

Shahidi said that Iran's major auto maker Iran Khodro has willingness to resume activities of its assembly plant in Azerbaijan. The assembly plant stopped activities in 2010.
Iran Khodro Company manufactured around 360,000 cars in 2015 and expects to increase this figure to 600,000 in 2016. This represents a significant drop form the nearly 1.091 million cars that were manufactured in Iran in 2014.

Earlier, The Managing Director of company Hashem Yeke Zare told Trend in July 2015 that Iran Khodro negotiates with the Azerbaijani side to build car assembly plant in Azerbaijan. Iran intends to get a license from the relevant Azerbaijani authorities to build the assembly plant, he said.

Zarem described company's plans to manufacture 10,000 cars per year in Azerbaijan, which will be exported.

He added that Iran plans to export 2,000 cars to Azerbaijan in 2015.

Shahdi said that Iranian pharmaceutical companies also have willingness to enter Azerbaijani markets.
