Unknown armed militants opened fire on a military convoy during a military parade in Iran's southwestern city of Ahvaz, Fars news agency reported.
The gunmen opened fire from a park behind the stands during the parade. As a result, a number of Iranian soldiers and civilians were killed and also injured.
According to media reports, the assailants are at large and the wounded have been taken to the hospital.
One the attackers, however, has been reportedly killed following the attack.
Iran’s Armed Forces staged the countrywide military parades to mark the Sacred Defense Week on the 38th anniversary of the onset of the Iraqi imposed war on the Islamic Republic back in 1980.
