The department of Emergency Situations of Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs has reported that Polish climbers on Shkhara Mountain in Svaneti in Western Georgia are in need of help. They recently sent an SOS to the base camp.

According to preliminary reports, Polish climbers descending down Bektil trail lost their packs after their rope broke. They cannot make it to the lowlands themselves.

According to the report, the department's rescue team is already at the foot of the mountain, but due to bad weather conditions, they cannot yet begin to climb.

The department reported that none of the climbers were seriously hurt, but they are not capable of coming down from the mountain top; as soon as weather permits, a rescue group will help them.
