( dpa ) - Style-conscious party-goers can now rent the biggest passenger car on the road in Singapore - a super-stretched limousine, news reports said on Thursday.

Measuring 8.05 metres long and 1.91 metres wide, the custom-made "land Yacht" built in Britain was acquired by restaurant and hospitality group IndoChine's chief executive Michael Ma.

"It is a moving lounge," The Straits Times quoted Ma as saying. The car costs "more than half a million dollars" and is the first of a few he plans to bring to the city-state.

The limo accommodates eight people in the rear where passengers can help themselves to a mini bar or watch movies on the plasma television.

The car has a 3.5-litre Mercedes-Benz engine and is based on the Chrysler 300C, Ma said, with a generous middle section added to it.

The classy vehicle is available "for photo shoots, weddings, parties, receiving VIPs, whatever," Ma said.

Rental rates start from 350 Singapore dollars (244 US dollars) per hour, with complimentary champagne.
