( dpa ) - A bomb exploded Thursday outside the High Court building in the north-eastern Pakistani city of Lahore, killing at least 10 policeman , local media reports said.
The death and injury toll was feared to grow as the bodies of numerous injured and dead were strewn around the blast site outside the court building in central Lahore, according to DawnNews TV and AAJ TV.
Ambulances and other emergency vehicles rushed to the scene following the blast, which occurred around 11:40 am, just before a protest rally was planned at the High Court by local lawyers.
DawnNews reported that police officers who had gathered outside the court building ahead of the protests appeared to be the intended target.
