Real Madrid striker Robinho has reiterated his desire to join Chelsea before the transfer window closes.

"The situation has not changed," he told a news conference Sunday. "I want to leave Real and play for Chelsea, the dpa reported.

"I am only thinking of Chelsea and want to play there."

Robinho was left out of Real's squad for Sunday's opening league game against Deportivo La Coruna.

Chelsea have made a bid of around 28 million pounds (50 million dollars) for the 24-year-old Brazilian and still hope to capture him before the transfer deadline which has been extended to midnight on Monday.

However Real president Ramon Calderon and coach Bernd Schuster have both been insisting the player will not be leaving the club.

Robinho, who joined Real in 2005, criticised the Spanish champions for not allowing him to leave.

"Since May I have been trying to renew my contract but they didn't want to know because they were so sure of signing Cristiano Ronaldo. Now they haven't signed anyone they don't want me to go," he said.
