An agreement on Estonia's accession to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) will be signed during OECD Secretary General Angel Gurria's visit to Tallinn on June 2-3, the Baltic state's Foreign Ministry has said.

Gurria is expected to meet with Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves, Prime Minister Andrus Ansip, the speaker of the Estonian parliament, Ene Ergma, and other top Estonian officials during his stay in Tallinn, the ministry's press service said.

The agreement on the accession of Estonia to the Paris-based OECD is planned to be signed on June 3, RIA Novosti reported.

The OECD is an international economic organization comprising 31 countries, with a total of 70 countries having partner status. The organization, created in 1960, defines itself as a forum of countries committed to democracy and the market economy.

Estonia, along with Israel and Slovenia, was officially invited to join the OECD on May 27.

Estonia will become a full member of the organization if the agreement is ratified by the country's parliament.
