Russia's election commission says voter turn-out moderate

Russian election officials on Sunday reported a moderate voter turnout in parliamentary elections, DPA reported.

Turn-out as of 12 pm Moscow time (0800 GMT) had topped 32 per cent in some villages in the central Siberian republic Tartarstan, according to the Central Election Committee.

In the Caucasus territory of North Ossetia, where another eight hours of voting was scheduled, turnout was at 10 per cent, the committee said.

Voting in the Far Eastern territories Chukhotka, Kamchatka and the Maritime Provinces - all territories in a time zone eight hours ahead of Moscow - ended without major incident.
