Turkey intends to increase passenger transportation by sea in 2019, a source in the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.
Until the end of 2019, the volume of passenger transportation by sea may exceed 140 million people, according to the source.
In the first quarter of 2019, passenger transportation amounted to 34.8 million people.
In 2018, 139.556 million passengers were transported by sea in Turkey, which is 2.360 million passengers more than in 2017. The biggest volume of passenger transportation by sea was recorded in Istanbul - 102.594 million passengers.
