Electricity generation declines in Turkey

Electricity generation in Turkey decreased by 0.9 percent in 2019, Trend reports via Turkish media.

Though over 292.1 billion kilowatts per hour (kWh) of electricity were consumed in Turkey, this figure dropped to 290.4 billion kWh (by 0.6 percent) in 2019.

In 2019, the highest electricity consumption was recorded in July - 27.3 billion kWh, while the lowest energy consumption was in April - 22.6 billion kWh.

Electricity generation in 2019 amounted to just over 291 billion kWh, which indicates a decrease of 0.9 percent, compared to 2018 (293.780 billion kWh).

Turkey exported over 2.7 billion kWh of electricity in 2019, which is 9.3 percent less than in 2018 (3.74 billion kWh).

Meanwhile, Turkey's electricity imports decreased by 10.3 percent - from 2.4 billion kWh in 2018 to 2.2 billion kWh in 2019.
