Turkey's export of wood, furniture to Uzbekistan decreases

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 29

Export of wood and furniture from Turkey to Uzbekistan decreased by 21.9 percent from January through April 2020 compared to the same period of 2019, amounting to $11.6 million, Turkey's Trade Ministry told Trend.

In April 2020, export of wood and furniture from Turkey to Uzbekistan dropped by 18.83 percent compared to the same month of 2019, amounting to $2.5 million.

Export of wood and furniture from Turkey to world markets dropped by 5 percent from January 2020 through April 2020 and amounted to $1.6 billion. Over the reporting period, Turkey’s wood and furniture export amounted to 3.2 percent of the country’s total export.

In April 2020, Turkey’s export of wood and furniture to the world markets decreased by 28.6 percent compared to the same month of 2019, making up $340.4 million. Meanwhile, Turkey’s wood and furniture export amounted to 3.8 percent of the country's total export.

From April 2019 through April 2020, Turkey exported the wood and furniture worth over $5.4 billion.
