President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received a delegation led by head of the CIS election observation mission, CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev.

Head of the CIS mission Sergei Lebedev congratulated the Head of State on a landslide victory in the presidential election.

Sergei Lebedev noted that members of the CIS mission were in close contact with local observers and voters during the election process.

He said voters casted their ballots for stability and development of the country.

According to the CIS Executive Secretary, the results of the presidential election in Azerbaijan illustrated the people's trust in their President and prospects of work carried out in the country under his leadership.

Sergei Lebedev expressed confidence that President Ilham Aliyev's political line would contribute to strengthening the country's image on the international scene and in the CIS, as well as to expanding Azerbaijan's cooperative, economic and neighborhood ties with member countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

The President thanked the head of the CIS observation mission Sergei Lebedev and the mission's members for their participation in the monitoring of the presidential election in Azerbaijan.

President Ilham Aliyev said all necessary conditions were created to conduct transparent election in the country.

The Head of State noted that the election process took place in a democratic manner.
President Ilham Aliyev said the people voted for the results of the successful policy carried out in the country, adding this policy will be continued.
