POLICE BREAKS RALLY OF AZADLYG BLOC IN KURDAMIR

The police broke a rally of Azadlyg bloc held in Kurdamir at 9:30 am on 14 August, Hassan Karimov, the deputy chairman of the Popular Front of Azerbaijan Party (PFAP), which enters the bloc, told Trend. The Executive Power of Kurdamir did not allow the local branch of Azadlyg to stage a rally in the city center.
Nevertheless, the local oppositionists made attempts to rally in the city center.

Starting from 8.30 am the police took measures aimed at breaking the actions of local oppositionists. The chairs and activists of the district branches of parties entering the bloc, as well as Akif Islamzade, the deputy chairman of the APFP, were arrested by the police and brought to the Police Department.

The protestors showed placards in some places, while they were not allowed to gather in the city center. Approximately 20 oppositionists were taken to the police department, warned and released the same day.
