VOLUME OF TRAFFIC TO AZERBAIJAN GREW BY 7,4%

The volume of traffic to Azerbaijan increased for 7 months of the current year. 71,2 million tons of cargo have been transported in January-July, which is by 7,4 % higher of the last year’s similar period, the Transport Ministry of Azerbaijan told Trend.

The major part of traffic fell at the road transport. 38,3 tons of freight were conveyed by the road transport, which is by 6,3% more of the last year’s figure for the same period. The volume of the passenger traffic has increased by 3,8% and made up 476 million persons.

The Ministry noted, the volume of sea transportations decreased by 4,7 % for this period. The sea transport conveyed 7,8 million tons of cargo. From the volume specified, 74,5% fell at the oil and the oil products, 18,8% are dry cargo.

The volume of the railway traffic was 14 million tons, which is by 19,3% more of the last year’s figure for the same period. The rest part of traffic was the air transport, main oil pipelines and other types of transport.
