Azerbaijan is interested in developing cooperation with the UK in the oil engineering sphere, the country's deputy minister of economy and industry Sahil Babayev said Oct.29.
He made the remarks during the Azerbaijan-UK business forum in Baku.
"The main purpose of the business forum is to promote cooperation in the sphere of oil engineering," said Babayev.
"Today, we want the Azerbaijani and UK companies to discuss more concrete projects during the business meetings, so that following today's meetings, to lay the foundation of new projects and cooperation in this sphere."
The deputy minister said that Azerbaijan has been successfully implementing its oil strategy for 21 years already and large-scale work carried out in the oil industry is very important for the country.
Today, it is very important to attract domestic products to this sphere," Babayev said.
"I believe that the cooperation between the UK companies possessing modern technologies and Azerbaijani specialists in the sphere of oil engineering which has long history in Azerbaijan will pave way for joint projects which in turn will increase Azerbaijan's oil engineering potential," he added.
