Iran is preparing to launch six platforms in the giant South Pars gas field by March 2017.
The platforms 14A (first platform of the phase 14), 17B, 18B, 19A, 20A and 21A are projected to be installed in the field.
In total, Iran is projected to add 100 million cubic meters of gas per day to the current 431 million cubic meters per day production capacity of South Pars by March 2017, said Ali Akbar Shabanpour, managing director at Pars Oil and Gas Company, SHANA reported June 24.
He added that the platforms 13A and 13B are also projected to be installed in the next fiscal year, which will start on March 21, 2017.
Iran plans to produce 700 million cubic meters of gas per day from South Pars field, when all of phases become operational (except for phase 11) by 2019.
