Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 10 / Trend H. Valiyev /

Azerbaijan will begin certification in accordance with ISO 27000 in 2013, SGS Azeri company executive director Sabig Abdullayev told Trend today.

Abdullayev said that the standard was adopted in 2010. The matter rests in launching certification of public and private enterprises in the country in accordance with this standard.

"Using the standard becomes urgent today within the state program 'Electronic Azerbaijan' which is being developed. Certifying electronic services in accordance with ISO 27001 will ensure transparency and facilitate citizens' access to e-services," Abdullayev said.
The international standards for the 27000 information security management system are being developed by ISO / IEC JTC 1/SC 27. This includes international standards defining requirements for information security management and risk management.

The organization implementing an information security management system ISO 27000 must implement actions carried out upon management systems and regulate them according to the ISO / IEC 27001:2005.

Meeting the requirements of ISO 27000 (ISO / IEC 27001:2005) enables organizations to formalize the information security management processes so security policy can be developed and information security can be organized.

Using ISO 27000 provides participating organizations effective protection of personnel and the reduction of internal threats, and the strengthening of the physical security and safety of the environment, and of communication governance and the exploitation of equipment.
