Kyrgyzstan to announce tender for Safe city project realization

By Elena Kosolapova - Trend: Kyrgyzstan will announce tender for Safe city project realization in near future, Kyrgyz government reported on Sept. 1.

In the coming days Kyrgyz Internal Affairs Ministry which represents the government in this project will approve the rules of the tender and organize a meeting of the tender commission, which will announce the tender.

The Safe city project envisages creation of the automated video surveillance, photo - and video-fixation, photo - and video recognition system within the country. It will be a hardware and software system with the use of video - analytic solutions, which allows identifying and responding quickly to all kinds of emergency situations, as well as taking timely measures to eliminate their effects.

Moreover a common electronic crime registering center will be created under the Interior Affairs Ministry within the Safe city project.

According to preliminary calculations, the Safe city project will cost from $42 million to $79 million.

The project will be funded by the company which wins the tender.

The Ministry was ordered to attract as many participants as possible to this project and a lot of work has been done to meet this goal. In particular, Kyrgyzstan organized a number of presentations for representatives of foreign embassies, as well as companies specializing in the information technology.

Earlier Kyrgyz Government approved the staff of the tender commission. The commission is formed by representatives of Kyrgyz ministries and departments, Parliament members of all the factions, vice-mayors of the cities of Bishkek and Osh, as well as representatives of civil society and non-governmental organizations. Kyrgyz Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Kursan Asanov heads the commission.
