Iranian President Hassan Rouhani's first tour of Europe will help improve Iran's economic situation, an Iranian lawmaker has told Trend.

"It appears that this visit will prove to be a significant event which will have a positive impact on Iran's economy and its international relations," Iraj Naidmi, deputy head of the Iranian Parliament's Economic Commission, told Trend on Nov 13.

Nadimi referred to the sanctions imposed against Iran and said many efforts were made to isolate the country. However, President Rouhani's visit to some European countries is being considered as an effort aimed at "breaking sanctions."

He further said that restoring Iran's ties with the world, including Europe, proved that a new era of relations between Tehran and the world has begun and the Islamic Republic is not an isolated state any more.

After clinching the nuclear deal with the P5+1 group of countries, officials from many European countries paid visits to Tehran to resume relations, the lawmaker stated.

Heading a high ranking delegation, President Rouhani will leave Tehran for Rome on Nov. 14 at the invitation of his Italian counterpart Sergio Mattarella. Rouhani is expected to meet Pope Francis as part of his upcoming European tour.

On Nov. 16, Rouhani is scheduled to address the Leaders' Forum in United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Paris.

This will be his first European trip as Iranian president since he took office in 2013. Also, he is the first Iranian president to visit Europe in the past ten years.

Iran and the P5+1 group of countries agreed on July 14 to implement the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA, aka nuclear deal) to curb Tehran's nuclear program, in exchange for the lifting of most international sanctions.
