2,401,481 sq m of area in Azerbaijan was demined in Azerbaijan in June 2006, the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) told Trend. In this period the agency revealed 4,775 mien and unexploded ordinances.
22 dogs, 138 field engineers, 15 Р HS operators, 8 emergency doctors and around 100 subsidiary employees.
During its activities in Azerbaijan ANAMA has cleared 29,700,729 sq m of area and revealed 22,681 mines and unexploded ordinances.
In September 2001 as a result of 77 mine explosions 48 people died, while some 108 suffered different injuries.
