ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 25. Kazakhstan has resumed transportation of trucks through the Caspian Sea within the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR, or Middle Corridor), Trend reports.

According to Kazakhstan's Transport Ministry, after the resumption of traffic on the Kulsary-Aktau highway on April 14, the transportation of 840 trucks along the TITR was ensured through the Kuryk Port ferry complex.

Due to the local floods in the western regions of Kazakhstan, temporary traffic restrictions were previously introduced on international highways.

On April 14, due to the stabilization of the situation, the restriction was lifted, and, as a result, a large flow of cargo vehicles rushed towards the port of Kuryk.

As the Ministry noted, thanks to the well-coordinated joint work of the port and the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO), timely organizational measures were taken to prevent congestion and downtime at the port.

As of 7.00 on April 25 (GMT+5), there are 78 trucks in the port of Kuryk waiting to be sent to the port of Alat (Baku).

The Middle Corridor is a transportation and trade route that connects Asia and Europe, passing through several countries in the region. It is an alternative route to the traditional Northern Corridor and Southern Corridor.

The route starts in China and crosses Central Asian countries such as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan. It then passes through the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye before reaching Europe.

The Middle Corridor offers a land route that connects the eastern parts of Asia, including China, with Europe, bypassing the longer maritime routes.
