PACE Bureau Made Decision to Hold Discussions on Azerbaijan in June: Head of Azerbaijani Mission

France, Strasburg, 18 April /corr. Trend A.Maherremli / The Bureau of Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) has made a decision to hold discussions on Azerbaijan in June session, head of Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation to the PACE Samad Seyidov reported to Trend on 18 April.

This decision was made at today's meeting of the Bureau in Strasburg as a result of the discussions, he said.

In addition, the Bureau discussed the complicated situation in Armenia, trailed with human rights violations during and after presidential elections. "Such an opinion was stated that if considerable changes do not take place by June session, the discussions on Armenia will be continued in very serious manner. In addition, the issue will be raised to stop the mandate of the Armenian delegation," Seyidov said.

Before the PACE session, expert discussions were held on the situation in Armenia. It was stated that as a result of cruel suppression of the demonstrations of opposition in Yerevan, 10 people died and nearly 100 people, including three MPs, were arrested, and the key opposition candidate, Levon Ter Petrosyan, was transformed into a domestic prisoner. As a result of the discussions, a resolution was passed requiring immediate improvement of the situation in the Country.

PACE session concluded in Strasburg on 18 April.
