Azerbaijani President to Inaugurate on 24 October

Azerbaijan, Baku, 22 October/ Trend / The Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will inaugurate o 24 October.

The Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan upheld results of presidential election on 22 October.

Central Election Commission submitted final results of presidential election to the Constitutional Court for approval on 18 October.

According to the Law on Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan, the Court officially announces results of the presidential election in 14 days after the vote. The Constitutional Court makes the final decision

The presidential election in Azerbaijan was held on 15 October.

Seven candidates were running for presidency at the 15 October presidential election including Ilham Aliyev, chairman of Ruling New Azerbaijan Party, Igbal Agazade, chairman of opposition Umid (Hope) Party, Fazil Gazanfaroglu, chairman of Great Establishment Party, Gudrat Hasanguliyev, chairman of Unified Popular Front Party, Hafiz Hajiyev, chairman of Muasir Musavat Party, Fuad Aliyev, chairman of Liberal Democrat Party and independent candidate Gulamhuseyn Alibayli.

According to final results, Ilham Aliyev, chairman of ruling New Azerbaijan Party and current President won 88.73% of votes.

Igbal Agazade gained 2.86%, Fazil Gazanfaroglu - 2.47%, Gudrat Hasanguliyev - 2.28%, Gulamhuseyn Alibayli - 2.23%, Fuad Aliyev - 0.78% and Hafiz Hajiyev - 0.65%.

According to the Article 103 of the Constitutional Court, the president inaugurates within three days after the Constitutional Court officially announces results of presidential election.
