GUAM Secretariat in Kiev under the chairmanship of Azerbaijan held the fourth meeting of the working sub-group on combat terrorism May 12.
Both sides exchanged information on the operational situation, results of tasks fulfilled by law enforcement agencies of the GUAM member-states to combat terrorism and change the national legislation in this sphere, the Secretariat said.
An important result of the meeting was coordination of proposals to organize and conduct workshops on warning and combat terrorism jointly with GUAM, the OSCE department for combating terrorism, the Department for Terrorism Prevention of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime.
The sub-group received a report from coordinator-country about the working sub-group's activity in 2009. It developed preliminary proposals for the structure of the relevant section of the 'GUAM Information Bulletin'. It considered issues of regional cooperation of GUAM Member-States to combat terrorism, including the development of legal framework and cooperation of GUAM with other states and international organizations.
