Regular meeting on missing persons to be held today in South Ossetia

Representatives from Russia, de facto South Ossetia and Georgia will meet today to discuss the fate of persons who went missing during the 2008 August conflict. The meeting will be held under the auspices of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

Representatives from Russia, de facto South Ossetia and Georgia will meet today to discuss the fate of persons who went missing during the 2008 August conflict. The meeting will be held under the auspices of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

The meeting will take place in the conflict zone.

At the previous meeting three weeks ago, "all sides expressed an interest in coordinating medical and legal actions to facilitate the identification of human remains."

The first such meeting was held in Switzerland Feb. 23. The next meeting was held in the same place in late March.

During the first meeting, a list of 47 missing persons was formed.
