The Georgian and Ukrainian presidents' meeting in Kiev held in a friendly and warm atmosphere, the Georgian presidential press service reported.

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili met with his Ukrainian Counterpart Viktor Yanukovych in Kiev and congratulated a colleague with the 60th anniversary. This is the first meeting between Saakashvili and Yanukovych.

The meeting took place upon Yanukovych's initiative. "The sides discussed the Georgia-Ukraine bilateral relations," the press service reported.

According to the Ukrainian media, the main celebrations on the 60th anniversary of President Yanukovych will be held July 10. Kiev will host an informal CIS summit on the same day. Saakashvili will not attend the summit, as the country formally withdrew from the CIS in August 2008.
