The suspension of visa issuance for Azerbaijani citizens to visit Dubai was purely technical, head of the first Dubai International Airport terminal Waled Ahmed said at a press conference.
The male population of Azerbaijan aged 18-60 during the last few days fail to get a visa to visit Dubai (UAE). The UAE authorities refuse from giving visas to Azerbaijani travel agencies, working in this area of the world, without any explanation, some Azerbaijani tour agencies told Trend earlier.
"The problem concerned not only the citizens of Azerbaijan, but also representatives of other countries. Within one week, we updated our database. So, visa issuance was suspended", Ahmed said.
All the problems have been resolved. Azerbaijani citizens can freely get visas to the United Arab Emirates, Dubai airport representative said.
"The media had false information. The only reason for suspension of visa issuance is updating of the database. This does not mean that we are against the citizens of Azerbaijan", he said.
Dubai attaches great importance to relations with Azerbaijan, given that many Azerbaijani businessmen work in United Arab Emirates, Ahmed said.
He added that visa issuance has been already resumed.
The problem with getting visas for Azerbaijanis to visit United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been completely solved, Azerbaijani ambassador to United Arab Emirates Elkhan Gahramanov told Trend on Tuesday.
The reason was some technical problems that have already been solved, Gahramanov said.
The Azerbaijani Embassy in United Arab Emirates (UAE) delivered a note to the Foreign Ministry of this country in connection with the failure to provide Azerbaijani men, wishing to visit the UAE, with visas, ambassador told Trend over phone from Abu Dhabi.
