Ashgabat has created State Medical University based on the abolished state medical institute.
The country's President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov signed the relevant decree.
The document says that this step is aimed to further improve level of public health, provision with "highly skilful doctors and qualified specialists, as well as to strengthen the scientific base of health system, increasing longevity, prevention and elimination of diseases, strengthening the scientific foundations of a healthy lifestyle.
Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan is instructed within one month to approve a new university's statues with the concurrence of the Education Ministry.
The Health Ministry must prepare and submit to the Cabinet of Ministers proposals on amending national legislation together with the Justice Ministry during the same period
