A delegation headed by the Regional Representative of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Central Asia Saber Azam has paid a working visit to Ashgabat, the Turkmen government said.
During a meeting at the Foreign Ministry, further development of the constructive partnership between Turkmenistan and the UN departments was discussed.
UNHCR representatives voiced a willingness to provide their full support for existing and new joint projects and programs, the report said.
Azam was also received in the Turkmen Parliament, where prospects for cooperation in the legal sphere were discussed.
The UN delegation will attend a workshop on international experience in the field of civil law and the legislation of Turkmenistan on April 27-28. The event participants include employees of the Foreign Ministry, Justice Ministry, National Institute for Democracy and Human Rights under the President of Turkmenistan, the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan and other agencies.
