The Israeli businessmen Roni Fuchs and Zeev Frankel are appealing the Georgian Supreme Court against the verdict issued by the Tbilisi Court of Appeals. As the Israeli business lawyer Archil Kbilashvili told Trend, according to law, they have until Aug. 27 to turn over the decision. This time will be made use of.
He stressed that the Georgian President did not respond to Fuchs and Frankel'spetition for pardon .
Kbilashvili said that the defendants will not plead guilty, and if necessary they will take the case to European courts. This can be done only after the Georgian Supreme Court's decision.
The Tbilisi Court of Appeals retained the right to issue the verdict on the Israeli businessmen Roni Fuchs and Zeev Frankel . The defendants are accused of attempting to bribe a public servant. The court of first instance sentenced Zeev Fraenkel to imprisonment for six and a half years and a fine of 100,000 lari ($1 = 1.66 lari) in favor of the state budget. Fuchs was sentenced to seven years of imprisonment and a fine of 500,000 lari.
