Iran to launch Tolou satellite to space in 2012

Iran will launch a new domestic-made Tolou explorer satellite to space next year, deputy head of the Industry and Research Institute of the Iranian Defense Ministry, Mohammad Eslami told ISNA.

This satellite will be placed at a 400 kilometer-orbit for 3 years.

Earlier, Iran announced that the country is going to send Tolou (Rising) satellite into space by February.

Tolou weighing less than 80 kg will be placed at 400 km above the earth surface, while it is to be sent by A2 or Simorgh satellite carrier.

The satellite with the life span of 1.5 year is able to take high quality photos from 50 meters away.
