Egyptian authorities have decided to tighten the conditions of entry into the country for citizens of 50 countries, including the citizens of Turkey, Hurriyet newspaper reported on Monday, with reference to diplomatic sources.

According to the newspaper, earlier Turkish citizens were obtaining visa for entry into Egypt at the Egyptian border. Now, under the new rules an entry visa must be requested in advance.

After Mohamed Morsi's overthrow, the Egyptian authorities made the same decision in relation to the citizens of Syria, Palestine and Yemen.

There has been some tension in Turkish-Egyptian relations after Morsi's overthrow. Ankara called the events in Egypt a military coup and said that the new regime in Egypt is not legitimate.
