Baku, Azerbaijan, Oct. 2
By Elchin Mehdiyev - Trend:
It is important for the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan in the first place that the Azerbaijani public would be satisfied with the election held, Chairman of the CEC of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mazahir Panahov said Oct.2.
He made the remarks commenting on the refusal of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) to observe election to the Milli Majlis (parliament) of Azerbaijan.
He went on to add that those who want to observe the election are welcome, and those who don't - it's their own business.
"Secondly, we present the position of Azerbaijan in the event held anywhere in the world, at any stage, in any format, we inform about this reality and the public approves it," Panahov said. "So I don't want to dwell on someone's biased attitude. This issue is beyond our powers. Each structure has its own internal policy."
Parliamentary election in Azerbaijan will be held November 1.
