Disagreement observed in Musavat Party on participation in by-elections

There is disagreement between the deputy heads of Musavat Party and the members of Divan (Assembly) on participation in the by-elections scheduled for 13 May 2006, Arif Hajyly, the deputy head of the party, told Trend.

The issue will be discussed at the sitting of the council of the party to be held on 5 February. Deputy heads of the party Arif Hajyly, Rauf Arifoglu, Vurgun Eyyub and Arzu Samadbayli accepted the issue positively, while Sulhaddin Akbar, Mehman Javadoglu, Ibrahim Ibrahimli and Gabil Husseynli came out with demand for making of opposite decision.

Hajyly said that majority will support the decision made in this regard. My position will depend on the decision of the council. If the party decides to participate in the by-elections, I will hold consultations in constituency 110, where I ballot from, he added.

He also said that any decision made by the party on participation in the by-elections would be new stage of the political activities of Musavat.
