Ann Derse, U. S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan, said during the presentation of a consulting company within a project on founding regional innovation zone in Azerbaijan, that U. S. is ready to cooperate with Azerbaijan in the IT sphere, Trend reports.
According to her, this project is the first important step in the direction of founding the regional innovation zone in Azerbaijan. I am very happy that American company, Booz Allen Hamilton will be engaged in the project. American companies have a great experience in the IT sphere, said Mrs. Derse.
The American Ambassador said that Azerbaijan IT market had a great potential to be further developed. She also marked the importance of Memorandum On Coordination in the sphere of telecommunications signed between the Azerbaijan telecommunication Ministry and the U. S. State Department in October, 2006. It stipulates American rendering assistance to reforms being carried in the sphere of telecommunications in Azerbaijan. The document guarantees the stability for American companies which are ready to invest in Azerbaijan economy.
I hope that after the regional innovation zone is set up, the number of American companies involved in Azerbaijan will expand, said Mrs. Derse.
