On February 9, 2007 the Taxes Minister of Azerbaijan, Fazil Mammadov, opened the new building of the Taxes Ministry Department for Work with Large Taxpayers, Trend reports.
The Minister said in the opening ceremony that the Department has been functioning since 2001, but had been located in a leased building.
It is our own building. We have spent AZN 1,2 mln to construct it, the Minister said. The building is 4500 sq. m.
From the second quarter, the taxpayers will be able to present the tax declaration in online form, the Minister said.
The opening ceremony of the building was attended by the large taxpayers of Azerbaijan, especially Azersu JSC, Azercell JV. The Head of Department for Work with Large Taxpayers is Sahir Mammadkhanov.
According to the Minister, more than 80% of the tax collections in 2007 will be ensured at the expense of large taxpayers.
