Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend I.Alizade / The Deputy Chairman of Milli Majlis [Azerbaijani Parliament], Valeh Aleskerov, met with the Ambassador of Sweden to Azerbaijan Guns Gunnar Adeni, Press-Service of Milli Majlis reports. The Vice Speaker congratulated the guest on his appointment as an ambassador to Azerbaijan and voiced his confidence that the over the period of his activities as an ambassador, Gunnar will assist in strengthening the Azerbaijani-Swiss relations. It was stated that independent Azerbaijan attaches great importance to the development of the co-operation with Sweden.
It was mentioned at the meeting that there are broad opportunities for the co-operation between the two countries in economic, commercial, ecological and humanitarian spheres. Conditions have been created in Azerbaijan to allocate investments not only into the oil and gas industry, but also other spheres of the economy.
The Ambassador said that he will do his best to develop Azerbaijani-Swiss relations. In addition, the Ambassador stressed that Sweden attaches great importance to the development of the co-operation with Caucasus, especially with Azerbaijan.
Moreover, the sides exchanged views on the co-operation in various spheres of energy and economy, expansion of the inter-parliamentary relations, ways of regulating regional conflicts and other issues.
