Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr E. Huseynli / Ayaz Rustamov, the chairman of the Azerbaijan National Independence Party (ANIP), has reported that the organization has proceeded to negotiate with several Azerbaijani parties on the formation of a new bloc on the threshold of the presidential elections. On 4 May, Rustamov said that pro-opposition parties should expand their cooperation within blocs.
"Due to presidential elections being in Azerbaijan soon, new opposition centres must be formed. The opposition should nominate a unified candidate," Rustamov added. According to the chairman, a new bloc will be created after definite decisions are made during the negotiations.
